Mondego was founded with a clear purpose: to rescue exceptional Portuguese stoneware that would otherwise be overlooked.

After months of research, factory visits, and conversations with manufacturers in Portugal, we discovered a world of surplus production, end-of-line collections, and seconds, pieces that were beautifully made but never reached the market.

Instead of letting these ceramics go to waste, we brought them to the UK and introduced a different way of shopping: STONEWARE SOLD BY WEIGHT.
